ASH Scotland calls on politicians to support Tobacco and Vapes Bill restrictions to protect children

ASH Scotland is urging MSPs voting today (Tuesday 24 March 2026) to pass the Scottish Government’s Tobacco and Vapes Bill Legislative Consent Motion (LCM) and take further steps towards a tobacco-free Scotland. Members of the charity will be gathering outside Holyrood to show support for the passing of the amendments.

Sheila Duffy, chief executive of ASH Scotland, said: “We encourage MSPs to introduce strong regulatory measures in the UK Government’s Tobacco and Vapes Bill and pass the Scottish Government’s LCM which proposes amendments to regulate cigarette filters and prevent the industry from introducing game technology in vaping devices, protecting the environment and young people.

“MSPs can take the chance to establish healthy environment for our future generations in Tuesday’s debate in the Scottish Parliament, while rejecting all destructive interference from the tobacco industry and associated profit-motivated businesses who do not represent the interests of public health.”
