Evaluation of Youth Nicotine Cessation Programmes
We've designed an interactive map to showcase a selection of evidence-informed international programmes designed to prevent nicotine and vaping uptake among young people (prevention-focused) or support young people already using vapes/nicotine products to quit (intervention-focused).
Our collection of youth nicotine cessation programmes are plotted by country/region of origin and include key details such as:
- Target age range
- Prevention or intervention focus
- Brief overview of approach and delivery (e.g. school-based, digital/app, community-wide, one-to-one support)
- Direct link to the programme's website/journal article for more information
Programmes featured were identified through systematic reviews, global health databases, and recent evaluations. These examples draw from peer-reviewed studies, rigorous evaluations, and established initiatives. They highlight promising practices that could inform local efforts in Scotland and the wider UK.
The map is not exhaustive, and focuses on programmes with documented relevance to young people and positive outcomes where available.

This map is a living resource and is continuously updated as new programmes emerge, evaluations are published, or additional details become available. The selection is based on publicly available evidence and does not represent an official endorsement or comprehensive global directory.
If your programme (or one you know about) is missing from the map, or if any information shown is outdated/inaccurate, we would greatly appreciate your input to help keep this resource accurate and useful. Please get in touch below:
