Activities and resources
Our Tobacco-free Generation Resource Pack is designed to help those working with young peopleĀ deliver activities on smoking and vaping. The pack contains up-to-date, factual information and activities to help discuss vaping with young people.
Activities can be delivered in youthwork or classroom setting activities and include:
- Vaping: true/false
- Are e-cigarettes safe?
- E-cigarettes and the law
- The tobacco industry, young people and social media influencers.

Training opportunities
Youth Conversations Hub
Youth organisations who join can gain access to resources, webinars and in-person events that explore young people and the harms of tobacco and vaping.
Young people, smoking, vaping and mental health training
In partnership with Youth Scotland, we have developed a training course for youth workers looking at young people, smoking, vaping and the impact on mental health.

eLearning module: Smoking and Young People
This module focuses on how smoking impacts young people in Scotland, including attitudes and knowledge; smoking, e-cigarettes and other substances; and tobacco industry tactics in recruiting young people.
It also explores youth workās role in engaging young people to stay smoke-free, and supporting young people to quit smoking, highlighting resources and strategies to enable you to confidently discuss smoking with the young people you support.

What do young people think of e-cigarettes?
University of Glasgow researchers worked with students to co-produce a video exploring e-cigarettes and how marketing targeted at young people can expose them to addictive products.

Workshops and resources for young people
ASH Scotland do not currently deliver workshops for children and young people. The following partner organisations offer this service:
LANDED offer a wide range of services to third sector and statutory organisations across Scotland. This includes harm reduction workshops for young people, staff training, peer education training, information stalls and consultancy services.
Topics covered include tobacco & e-cigarettes, cannabis, alcohol, drugs, sexual health, positive relationships and sexting.Ā For more information please visitĀ www.landed.info.
Fast Forward work across Scotland to enable young people to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing. As part of their tobacco education work, Fast Forward offer e-cigarette sessions for primary school children.
